Dilworth & South End
Dilworth and South End are the historic districts of Charlotte located directly south of Uptown. Thanks to the development of the Blue Line trail and the innovation of Corporate Charlotte, this area has experienced significant renovations since the 1990s, but has not lost its unique history or art as a result. This rail system also offers a quick and easy commute into Uptown for residents. For avid walkers, the rail trail provides easy access into the heart of the city, and Uptown is only four miles away. South End claims the first Charlotte Brewery the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, which was built in 2007 and serves German-style cuisine and beer. Charlotte's South End has some of the best shopping experiences in the City available. Atherton Mill and Market provides a place for health conscious clients who would typically expect to need to leave the city to find goods from local farms with a more convenient option. Similarly to Uptown, living options in South End mostly include town houses and condos. Dilworth also contains bungalows and Queen Anne style homes.
